Are You Wasting Your Time in Online Business?

Are You Wasting Your Time in Online Business?

Today I want to share one of the best lessons I’ve ever received in the Internet marketing world.

I don’t even remember where I saw this but it had an immediate and lasting impact on my online profits.

This may sound simplistic, but here is the advice:

“Do something profitable first.”

Every day when you first fire up your computer, make sure the first task you perform is something that can generate a profit.

On today’s Internet, it is far too easy to do unprofitable tasks one after another and waste hours upon hours. Fall into these bad habits and in a few months, you’ll be wondering why there’s no money coming in.

However, when you do something profitable FIRST every day and you will steadily grow your income.

I’ll show you some examples from my own past experiences, right after today’s top sponsor ad…

Here’s how the “old me” operated…

Most days when I fired up the PC I started by checking my email. That was a mistake. Yes, answering email is important but it should be done AFTER a profitable task is completed.

Here’s a list of unprofitable or marginally profitable tasks that you should NOT do right away:

  • Check email
  • Go on Facebook
  • Go on Twitter, Pinterest or any other social media site
  • Watch videos on youtube
  • Read a sales letter or watch a sales video
  • Buy a product
  • Shop at Amazon or any other site
  • Feel overwhelmed and watch TV instead of working

While all of those things are perfectly acceptable on a limited basis, they are not making you much, if any money.

So now you may be wondering what things you should do BEFORE you do any of those things. Well, here is a list of things I replaced those with and saw an immediate impact in my earnings…

  • Create a new blog post
  • Contact 2-3 potential JV partners
  • Research and review a potential affiliate product
  • Write a solo email series for a good affiliate product
  • Send a solo email to your list or a solo vendor
  • Add a high-converting affiliate product to an autoresponder series
  • Brainstorm a new product of your own
  • Work on a sales letter for a new product
  • Learn a new marketing skill by reading or watching a training product, then implement it immediately
  • Perform a traffic generating task such as post at a forum, build a link, place an ad or do a guest post
  • Outsource some profitable tasks at

Do you see the difference in this list compared to the list of unprofitable tasks?

The unprofitable tasks take up just as much time, and sometimes more. In fact, it is easy to waste an entire day doing the non-productive stuff. But at the end of the day, you may as well have been sleeping or watching TV.

However, if you do at least ONE of the items from the profitable list BEFORE you do anything else every day, you will steadily grow your profits.

Do this every day for a few weeks and it will become a habit.

Then look back a month or two later and you may be pleasantly surprised to see how much this new habit helped you grow your income. I know I was!

It’s funny how one small change in the way you think or the actions you take can make all the difference in the world.

Quick Hacks To Improve Your Business

It’s hard to mesh the notion that we should be faster and more productive with the idea that we should track our business, analyze our time, and optimize what works.

If you can’t find the time to add systems to your business, try a little addition by subtraction. Let’s look at the quick hacks to improve your business that you can do to make your business more profitable:

1. Cancel services that aren’t working for you.

If you’ve been paying a monthly or yearly fee for services and software that you’re always “getting ready” to use… get ready to dump those services and reclaim your money.

Ask yourself if the monthly services that you’re using are really living up to their promises. Are they paying for themselves right now, or are you going to need other elements to take full advantage of them?

Look for more cost-effective solutions, and look for services that combine two or three features that you’re already using.

There are many times that you’ll want to “make the switch” but you’re hesitant because you’ve got data there, or the process of changing over would take the time that you don’t have.

But when you finally block off some time and make the move, you’ll be surprised at how good it feels.

Look for companies that give you great benefits to switch. Usually, the services that are “stickiest” know that it’ll take a generous set of benefits to draw new customers.

2. Develop the courage to quit.

Sometimes, you get stuck with a business plan that just does not benefit you.

Look, it’s important not to give up on something easy, but every business has something called “sunk costs”. That’s the point where things aren’t going to get better, and the more you invest, the more you’re going to lose.

Look for elements of your business that are keeping you from accomplishing MORE and doing something BETTER. Look for the items in your business that you can quit. And if you aren’t sure that you can quit those elements, try to step back and find ways to tackle the same tasks more effectively.

3. Learn more efficient ways of doing business.

The time that you spend struggling to finish a task can sometimes be spent asking more efficient and advanced people their methods for doing things.

Look up blogs and books discussing the very specific stumbling block that’s impeding your process and start applying those fixes.

Also, there are plenty of paid services that charge for convenience – so if there’s a skill you can learn to save yourself some money, take the time to learn it.

Don’t treat this improvement as a one-time thing. Sign up for newsletters and resources that will gradually improve your skill. You won’t learn a skill overnight, but a small amount of time can give you compound results.

Remember that cash is an amazing source of leverage. If there’s a task that’s critical to your business and requires a lot of skill, consider leveraging your money and hiring a specialist to do it. Cash is always tight, so if you’re smart, you can get a lot for a little.

Hello world!

Hello world!
Hi, it’s Lusekelo and this is my new website. Stay tuned… I’ll have great things to share!

For starters, here’s an article I think you’ll enjoy…

It’s called: “Make the Leap to Home Business Success”

Make the Leap to Home Business Success

If you are going to build a successful home business, you need 3 “intangibles.” These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

===> Intangible 1 <===

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why must you make a home business work? What’s driving you? What is it that you CAN’T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn’t stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone’s time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children’s lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

===> Intangible 2 <===

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don’t believe that it’s POSSIBLE for you to succeed in a home business or make your living on the Internet, you won’t. It’s that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money with a home business online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online in many different ways. Just get online and do some research and you’ll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you’ll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it’s getting easier and easier to start and succeed in a home based business. This is primarily because of the Internet and affiliate marketing.

I’ve always said that “affiliate marketing” is the job of the future. In the “old” days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the “job” of the future that’s here TODAY.

===> Intangible 3 <===

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Hello world!

Ready, FIRE, then aim… This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with an Internet home business.

That’s backward for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target… The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can’t learn from the outside… You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. This is what I call “Making the Leap.”

The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is very small. In the “brick and mortar” world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It’s almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet, you can often start a successful business for less than $100. In fact, you can start your online business for free

You simply need to get IN THE GAME… Each moment that you stay “out there,” you’re wasting valuable time that you could be learning and skills necessary to become a successful affiliate marketer. In fact, if you’re not in the game yet, you’re ALREADY behind the times. Come on… You can do it! Make the leap to becoming a successful home-based business owner today!
